~March 8 and 12 - Variety SHOW try-outs after school, 3:30 ? 5:00 ? responsible behavior a must! Future rehearsals (Tues Lunch and Friday 3:30 ? 4:30)

~We need parent volunteers for our next two events. Let Kan or me know that you are interested. KanCeballos@gmail.com or AndreaLivingston@msn.com

~Cinco de Mayo ? May 5 celebration ? International Club along with the Drama Club will host a great celebration at VMMS. Rancho Buena Vista High School Folklorico team will perform fabulous Mexican dances for us and our VMMS Drama Club will perform a reenactment of the historical reason for Cinco de Mayo. This will be followed by our own VMMS Student Variety show. Volunteers will help with the food, deco and the show. Please let Kan our Volunteer coordinator know what you would like to help with.

~Last day of school CELEBRATION ? We need your help to make this a very memorable day for your kids. 6th, 7th and 8th grade Committees for this event are forming and will decide what activities we can offer to each of our grades to congratulate them for their great efforts. Volunteers will help with food and activities and? Celebrate the last day of school. Committee dates TBA.

~We are all very proud of VMMS Students, Donald Loveland and Karen Ceballos who won the DAR (Daughter?s of the American Revolution) ?Citizen of the Year? Award. There were only six recipients in the USA to win this award. Congratulations!!!

~Pasta 4 Pennies program ? Send your spare change to VMMS. Students are collecting to help fight children?s Leukemia.

~April 12 ? PTA Board meeting - 2 ? 3:30 in room 202. If you want to join us and haven?t yet had a moment, please take us up on our offer. You are always welcome. Also, there are plenty of PTA board roles for you in the coming year. Get involved. It?s fun and your presence will make a large impact on your children?s education.

~
We will have our next PTA Association meeting in April. You will have the opportunity to vote on the 2010/2011 PTA board. We welcome each and every one of you to join us. The following are PTA roles which need PTA association approval, but we have many more roles available on the board for all who want to be part of our dynamic group.

Is your 8th grader getting ready to finish? You must be aware of the VUSD 8th grade standards...
EXIT 8th GRADE?  Also, make sure your 8th grader understands that participating in 8th grade celebrations and Promotion is a privilege not a right. They must have a 2.5 GPA and NO "N" or "U" in Work Habits or Citizenship.
